Care Guide
We all want our clothes to last longer, and we all want to take care of our planet in the process. As a brand, we’re committed to sourcing products ethically, responsibly, and sustainably. To support this, we’ve created a simple care guide to help extend the life cycle of your Cayé pieces.
Swim Shorts
-
Rinse after every swim – Salt water, chlorine, and sunscreen can break down fabrics. Rinse in cold, fresh water straight after wearing.
-
Hand wash or gentle cycle – Use a mild detergent and avoid fabric softeners which can damage quick-drying materials.
-
Air dry only – Lay flat or hang in the shade. Never tumble dry or leave in direct sunlight for long periods, as this can fade colours.
-
Avoid rough surfaces – Sitting on rocks or rough pool edges can cause fabric pulls.
Shirts
-
Wash less – Only wash when necessary. Airing out after use often does the trick.
-
Cold wash, gentle cycle – Helps preserve fabric and reduce energy use.
-
Button up before washing – Keeps the shirt’s shape intact and protects the buttons.
-
Air dry on hanger – Avoid the dryer; hang on a padded hanger to maintain structure.
-
Iron on low heat – For linen or cotton, use steam or lightly dampen fabric before ironing.
Shorts
-
Turn inside out before washing – Protects colour and reduces fading.
-
Cold wash – Keeps fibres strong and prevents shrinkage.
-
Avoid over-washing – Spot clean when possible instead of frequent full washes.
-
Air dry – Helps fabric last longer and saves energy.
-
Store folded – To prevent stretching or unnecessary creasing.
Sustainability Tip
Caring for your clothes properly not only makes them last longer but also reduces your environmental impact. Wash in cold water, air dry whenever possible.
